Speaking on the occasion the PM said he had visited Assam many times in recent years and said the people of Assam have blessed us.

The Prime Minister said Assam is a significant part of AatmaNirbharBharat where 11000 km road has been constructed and the way to 'Atmanirbhar Assam' is through 'Atmavishwaas' among the people of Assam.

PM Modi said 40 per cent of Assam's population is taking the benefit of 'Ayushmaan Bharat' scheme of the Central government.

The PM said Over 50 lakh gas cylinders have been distributed in Assam and the Centre-State double engine government is also working very hard to supply running water to all the households of the state.

He said, Ujjala scheme is successful with 99 percent coverage in the State.

The Prime Minister said the Act East policy has strengthened connectivity. He also lauded the Assam government for handling the COVID19 situation in a humanatarian manner and called it praise worthy.

The decision has been taken to honour and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation. His life gives us inspiration even today, the PM said.
