Sri Lankan leaders congratulate PM Modi

The Sri Lankan government and other political leaders of the island nation have congratulated BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena in his congratulatory message termed the victory as people's re-endorsement of Mr Modi's leadership.

He said, Colombo looks forward to continuing the warm and constructive relationship with New Delhi in future.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also said they looked forward to working with Mr Modi.

Opposition leader and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa also sent heartfelt wishes and congratulations.


He wished Mr Modi and people of India the very best under the Prime Minister's dynamic leadership.
