NHRC notice to HP govt over reported death of a school boy in Kangra
National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to  Himachal Pradesh government over reported death of a school boy in Kangra due to alleged negligence of government school authorities.

Taking suo motu cognizance of media report,  the Commission asked the State Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to send a detailed report in the matter within four weeks.

According to media report, a student of class six died due to alleged delay in providing medical care to him after he was hit on the head by a fellow student in the premises of a government  School in Kangra district on 15th of this month.

The Commission  has observed that the allegations of carelessness on part of the school authorities in providing the timely treatment to the victim boy, if true, amount to gross violation of human rights.
