Assam floods: PM Modi assures all help and cooperation to Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all help and cooperation to Assam as the state is facing one of the most devastating floods in recent times. Mr. Modi held a telephonic discussion with Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal today. Mr. Sonowal briefed him on relief, rescue and rehabilitation.  

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will undertake aerial survey in Upper Assam tomorrow. Later, he will also hold a review meeting with senior Assam Government ministers and officials in Guwahati. Several ministers including Chief Minister Mr. Sonowal are visiting flood-affected areas. More than 27 lakh people have been affected in 28 districts in the current fury of floods.
